Mike Painter (Paul Schneider) is a troubled man who left his hometown after his brother's mysterious disappearance. Now a prominent child psychologist, he returns to his old city when a strange children's television program is broadcast again and scares children in the region. Called Candle Cove, the program was responsible for Painter's worst memories and while he wonders what's behind the program, his childhood friends suspect Mike's sudden return.
