Tôkyô Sonata

Tokyo Sonata is a portrait of an apparently normal Japanese family. The father who abruptly loses his job hides the truth from every family; the eldest son who barely stops at home wants to join the army of another country; the youngest starts taking piano lessons hidden from his parents, and his mother, who knows her role is to keep the family together, doesn't find the will to do so. Somehow, a deep chasm appears within the family, and it spreads quickly and silently to disintegrate them. All this in a film that starts from the drama, coming to seem like a dark comedy film, but without losing anything
