Doug Carlin (Denzel Washington) works for the Tobacco, Alcohol and Firearms Agency. Called to retrieve evidence after a bomb explosion on a New Orleans raft, Carlin discovers that what most people believe is only in his mind is far more powerful than anyone imagines. He then finds a way to travel through time, which allows him to prevent the explosion from occurring.
