Seven years have passed since Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) escaped from prison. The homicidal multiple now works in the library of a noble family in Florence and moves freely across Europe. FBI agent Clarice Sterling (Julianne Moore), who interviewed Dr. Lecter before he fled the maximum security hospital for insane criminals, never forgot the killer, whose voice still haunts his dreams. But Mason Verger (Gary Oldman) also hasn't forgotten Hannibal. A victim who managed to survive the psychopath's attack and became terribly disfigured, Verger becomes obsessed with revenge and realizes that, in order to make Dr. Lecter discover, he will have to use Clarice Sterling himself as bait.
