The life of four melancholy characters is accompanied by the filming. A blonde and mysterious cabaret singer (Vali Kerekes) is Karrer's passion (Miklós Székely B.), and Karrer tries to get close to the attractive woman through her husband. However, she uses it, and Karrer's despair is metaphorically represented by the freezing weather, the obscure bars and the anonymous dogs.
