At a school in Germany, students have to choose between two electives, one about anarchy and the other about autocracy. Professor Rainer Wenger (Jürgen Vogel) is placed to teach classes on autocracy, despite being against his will. After a few minutes of the first class, he decides, to better exemplify the students, to form a fascist government within the classroom. They name the movement "A Onda", and choose a uniform and even a greeting. But the teacher ends up losing control of the situation, and the students start spreading "A Onda" around the city, making the school project a real movement. When things start to get too serious and fanatical, Wenger tries to end "The Wave", but by then it is too late
