In 1962, in a small country town in the USA, friends Curt (Richard Dreyfuss) and Steve (Ron Howard) live great adventures, passions and confusion in the last days of the summer, just before leaving for college in another city. The last night reserves a series of important events for the duo and their friends: Laurie (Cindy Williams), Curt's sister, after an argument with Steve, her boyfriend, gets a ride with Bob Falfa (Harrison Ford), a misfit who loves to make cracks. Teddy, a clumsy boy from school, “borrows” Steve's car and makes an average of the beautiful Debbie. Finally, Curt joins a gang and can make a big mistake and go to the chair! A night that will change everyone's life!
