1921. Constance (Marina Hinds) lives on a country estate with her husband, Clifford Chatterley (Hippolyte Girardot), a lieutenant sentenced to a wheelchair because of World War I. She suffers from a monotonous life, bound by the obligation of marriage. One day, during a walk in the woods, she meets Parkin (Jean-Louis Coullo'ch), the property's gamekeeper. The attraction between the two awakens in her a desire never before experienced.
