The year is 1947 in Hollywood and Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins), an unlucky detective, is hired to find evidence that Marvin Acme, the joke factory tycoon and owner of Toontown, is involved with the fatal woman Jessica Rabbit, wife by Roger Rabbit, the superstar of Marron Cartoon. When Acme is murdered, everyone points to Roger, who begs Detective Valiant to find the real malefactor.
