Sinopse

Writer Chow Mo-Wan (Tony Leung Chiu Wan) returns to Hong Kong to write a novel. He stays at a cheap hotel in Wanchai, assuming the personality of a playboy and conqueror. Chow begins a series of romantic relationships with four different women who stay in room 2046, which is opposite his own. Meanwhile, haunted by memories of his years in Singapore, Chow writes a sci-fi story called "2046". In the story, train passengers take an endless journey towards a mysterious destination, where they hope to rediscover their lost memories.
