Before Batman, the city of Gotham already existed. James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) is a novice police detective. Courageous, sincere and eager to show service, the newly promoted has the mission to solve the case of the murder of billionaires Thomas and Martha Wayne, one of the most complex cases in the city. With his partner, officer Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), Gordon meets the only survivor of the murder: Bruce (David Mazuouz), a 12-year-old son of the couple, for whom he immediately feels great affection.
