Chuck Noland (Tom Hanks) is an inspector for Federal Express (FedEx), a multinational company in charge of sending cargo and correspondence, whose function is to check various company offices around the planet. However, on one of his usual trips there is an accident, which leaves him stranded on a completely deserted island for 4 years. With his fiancée (Helen Hunt) and his friends imagining that he died in the accident, Chuck must fight to survive, both physically and emotionally, so that one day he can return to civilization.
