The King's Speech

Since the age of 4, George (Colin Firth) has been a stutterer. This is a serious problem for a member of the British director, who often needs to make speeches. George went to several doctors, but none of them brought effective results. When his wife, Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter), takes him to Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush), an unconventional method speech therapist, George is hopeless. Lionel puts himself on an equal footing with George and also acts as his psychologist, in order to become his friend. His exercises and methods make George gain self-confidence to fulfill the greatest of his challenges: taking the crown, after the abdication of his brother David (Guy Pearce).
