Lilo (Daveigh Chase) is a small 5 year old Hawaiian girl who loves to care for less favored animals and lives with her sister Nani (Aunt Carrere). Lilo has the habit of collecting recyclable garbage on the beaches so that, with the money received, he can buy fish food and swim to the high seas to feed them. Until, on a beautiful day, she finds a dog and decides to adopt it. However, this dog is actually Stitch (Chris Sanders), an alien being who is one of the most dangerous criminals in the galaxy. Stitch was arrested on a distant planet by the interplanetary police, but when he is directed to a prison planet he manages to escape, accidentally falling to Earth. Now, in order to escape the police that still chase him, Stitch hides four of his six legs and decides to pretend to be an ordinary dog, developing over time a bond of friendship with Lilo.
