Sophie is an 18 year old girl who works tirelessly in the headgear that belonged to her late father. On one of her rare trips to the city, she meets Howl the Magician. Howl is extremely seductive, but of a dubious character. Confusing the relationship between them, a witch casts a terrible spell on Sophie, turning her into a 90-year-old woman. Distressed by her situation, Sophie runs away and becomes wandering in desert lands. She ends up encountering The Animated Castle of Howl and, hiding her true identity, she manages to be hired to do domestic services. The "old lady", mysterious and dynamic, will soon give new life to the old room, where only a young apprentice, Markl and the person responsible for the Castle, Calcifer, the fire demon, live. Full of energy, Sophie works miracles. What fabulous destination awaits? What if her story with Howl is just beginning?
