"The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" begins with the introduction of the main characters, Link and Zelda, who live together on the floating island of Skyloft. They are students at the Knight Academy, where they train to become elite knights mounted on giant birds called Loftwings.
During the annual Bird Racing ceremony, Zelda is kidnapped by a mysterious hooded figure. Link sets out on a journey to rescue her and discovers that his mission is much larger than he imagined.
Link must explore different regions of Hyrule, collect items, and solve puzzles to advance the story and defeat the evil that threatens the kingdom. Along the way, he encounters memorable characters, including Fi, a talking sword that helps him on his mission, and Ghirahim, a mysterious villain who seeks the same objectives as Link.
