In the 50s, on a farm in Yorkshire, the chicken Ginger ceaselessly seeks a way to escape the tragic end that its owners reserved for her and her fellow humans. After several failed attempts, the rooster Rocky appears on the farm, with an ambitious promise: to teach how to fly chickens. But the time for Ginger and Rocky is short: the Tweedys, the owners of the farm, bought a machine that makes chicken pies, which will soon go into operation and will decimate the entire local population.
