Rio de Janeiro today. A police officer is forced to intervene in a robbery of an upper-middle class house in the Laranjeiras neighborhood. From this event, the film follows three stories set in different times. Days later, the policeman, suspended from his activities, tries to go on with his normal daily life, between life with his only daughter and the presence of friends. Five years later, a woman returns with her two children and new husband to empty and sell the house where she lived in her previous marriage until the death of her first husband. A few weeks earlier, a grocery delivery boy discovers the love of her life.
