Walter White (Bryan Cranston) is a 50s chemistry teacher who works at a high school in New Mexico. To meet the needs of Skyler (Anna Gunn), his pregnant wife, and Walt Junior (RJ Mitte), his physically disabled son, he has to work twice. His life gets even more complicated when he finds out that he is suffering from incurable lung cancer. To quickly increase the amount of money he would leave for his family after his death, Walter uses his knowledge of chemistry to make and sell methamphetamine, a synthetic drug. He has the help of former student and petty drug dealer Jesse (Aaron Paul) and faces several challenges, including the fact that his brother-in-law is an important name within the region's Anti-Drug Agency.
