A Swiss sailor decides to change his life and locks himself in a fifth-rate hotel in Lisbon, where he begins to discover new realities. He gets involved with a waitress and starts filming everything he sees as magical and surreal in the city, with his eyes as an amateur cameraman. The images become a link between him and his wife, who lives in Switzerland, and are sent to her as if they were letters.
