In an England of the future, where a totalitarian regime is in place, lives Evey Hammond (Natalie Portman). She is saved from a life or death situation by a masked man, known only by the code name V (Hugo Weaving), who is extremely charismatic and skilled in the art of combat and destruction. By calling on his countrymen to rebel against the tyranny and oppression of the English government, V provokes a real revolution. While Evey tries to find out about V's past, she ends up finding out who she is and her role in her savior's plan to bring freedom and justice to the country.
