Congressman Phillip Hammersley murdered by a government agency, shortly after declaring himself radically against a law that, in the name of national security, would allow a total invasion of privacy, as in practice anyone could be monitored by the government. But, accidentally, the crime filmed and the owner of the recording, seeing himself threatened, puts the evidence of the crime in the shopping bag of Robert Clayton Dean (Will Smith), a lawyer he knew. He still tries to escape, but in the escape he dies run over. Without having the slightest idea of ​​what is going on, Robert goes home with the recording and from this moment on, his life turns into a real hell, because, unbeknownst to him, his clothes and personal objects are tapped, soon he loses his job and all your credit cards are canceled.
