David Packouz (Miles Teller) leads a peaceful life in Miami, is married and has a baby. Efraim (Jonah Hill) runs a lucrative business and, seeing that David has been experiencing financial difficulties, decides to call his childhood friend to work with him. The two, who in their teens have been arrested for smoking marijuana, go on a new journey together, discovering a huge arms sales market.
