The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

Germany, World War II. The boy Bruno (Asa Butterfield), 8, is the son of a Nazi officer (David Tewlis) who takes an important position in a concentration camp. Without really knowing what his father does, he leaves Berlin and moves with him and his mother (Vera Farmiga) to an isolated area, where there is not much to do for a child his age. The problems start when he decides to explore the place and ends up meeting Shmuel (Jack Scanlon), a boy of similar age, who lives in striped pajamas and is always on the other side of an electrified fence. The friendship grows between the two and Bruno starts to visit him more and more, making this relationship more dangerous than they imagine.
