In a not-too-distant post-apocalyptic future, the planet is a devastated place. The Continent is a region of Brazil that is miserable, decadent and scarce of resources. At the age of 20, every citizen is given the chance to go through the Process, a rigorous selection of physical, moral and psychological evidence that offers the chance to ascend to the High Seas, a region where everything is abundant and life opportunities are extensive. However, only 3% of those registered will get there.
