The Doctor is a Time Lord - an alien from a distant planet called Gallifrey who is two hearts and approximately 900 years old. In his spaceship, the TARDIS, he crosses the barriers of space and time, fighting enemies and creating adventures with his companions, which he always chooses to travel with him. When he is about to die, he regenerates and is reborn in another entirely new body.
