"The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes" begins with a scene in which Princess Styla of Hytopia is cursed by an evil witch, causing her to be trapped in a magical dress. As a result, fashion in Hytopia becomes extremely important and people start dressing in increasingly extravagant ways.
The player controls a young hero who is summoned by Princess Zelda to help find a cure for Styla's curse. The hero is transported to Hytopia and meets two other heroes, each with unique abilities.
Together, the three heroes embark on a journey to find the three "Triforce Stones" which are needed to undo Styla's curse.
The game is based on puzzles and cooperative gameplay, and allows up to three players to participate together, controlling each of the heroes.
