Dan Millman (Scott Mechlowicz) is a talented teen gymnast who dreams of participating in the Olympics. He has everything a boy his age might want: trophies, friends, motorcycles and girlfriends. One day his world turns upside down when he meets a mysterious foreigner named Socrates (Nick Nolte). After suffering a serious injury, Dan enlists the help of Socrates and a young woman named Joy (Amy Smart). He will discover that he still has much to learn and that he will have to leave several things behind in order to become a peaceful warrior and thus find his destiny.
