Eddie Morra (Bradley Cooper) suffers from writer's block. One day, he meets his ex-brother-in-law, Vernon (Johnny Whitworth), on the street, who presents him with a revolutionary medicine that allows the use of 100% of brain capacity. The effect is immediate on Eddie, as he starts to remember everything he has read, heard or seen in his life. From then on, he is able to learn other languages, make complicated calculations and write very quickly, but to maintain this rhythm he needs to take the medicine every day.
